It was a momentous day at National Hill View Public School, Rajarajeshwarinagar, as the prolific writer and philanthropist Padma Shri Smt. Sudha Murty, Chairperson, Infosys Foundation, visited the school for an interactive session with the students on the occasion of ‘Literary Week’ celebrations at the school.

Mrs. SudhaMurty was honoured by the dignitaries present on stage; Mr. Venkatappa, Additional Trustee Secretary National Education Foundation, in his address, lauded her contribution to the society and her simplicity. Mr. Lepaksha, Trustee Secretary , NEF , graced the occasion.Trustee Secretary Schools, Ms. Aisshwarya D.K.S, spoke about books being man’s best friend and the Principal, Mrs.Anita Vinodkumar introduced Mrs. Sudha Murty and briefed the audience on her life and achievements.

Students of the tenth standard, enacted an episode ‘Panchajanya’ from her latest mythological novel for children-‘The Upside Down King’. Ishika Agrawal and Durga Rajiv Chaloli read out the story,’A Measurement of Time’ from the same book.

This was followed by a very candid ‘Question and Answer’ session in which Mrs Sudha Murty very adeptly and humorously, in her signature ‘down-to earth’ manner, answered various questions posed to her by the students. She concluded the session by regaling the audience with an anecdote from her personal life.

It was indeed a ‘lesson in humility’ that students and teachers alike received on how we must respect our rich Indian culture and values and the wealth that lies in reading and personal interaction.
